In an advisory released through his official Facebook page, Marcos said he received and approved the recommendation made by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The NDRRMC specifically recommended the suspension of work in government offices in the National Capital Region, along with Regions I, II, III, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Region V on Monday, September 26.
The NDRRMC also recommended the suspension of classes of public schools at all levels.
“The identification of the regions is based on the analysis determined from the NDRRMC’s Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA),” the agency said in its letter to Marcos.
“The recommended suspension will prevent any untoward incidents and will ensure the safety of the general public,” it added.
The NDRRMC also recommended that the respective heads of private companies, offices, and schools be given the discretion regarding the suspension of work and classes.
